The Overlord then proceeded, and found a area with trees that had been cut down, and upon further investigation, discovered that the Glorious Empire had found another sanctuary. Many years later when the Overlord was proving his value to be the reigning Overlord, he came across hunters that were authorized by the Glorious Empire to hunt, and believing that he was a poacher, attacked the Overlord, to which he destroyed their camp and drove the hunters out. Their ruler is Emperor Solarius, a ruthless and deluded tyrant, who wishes to eradicate all of the world's magic and collect it in the Magic Containment Room in the Imperial Palace.
During the time the Overlad is being raised to become the Fourth Overlord, the Glorious Empire expands and takes over much of the World. In response, the Nordbergians toss out the Overlad, who proceeds to escape with the aid of the minions and a Yeti. They besiege Nordberg Town and demand they hand over any magic users to be "cleansed". The still-expanding Empire is first encountered during the Overlad Prologue. Solarius named himself Emperor of this growing, he seeked to get rid of the magic creatures and apparently restore order, but the true ideals of Solarius were not to protect the people, but so he could ascend into godhood, and for nearly 20 years they hunted down magic creatures and imprisoned them for the arena, forcing the remaining Magic creatures such as the fairies, elves and unicorns to form the hidden sanctuaries,and one figure united the magic creatures, the beautiful and good hearted Queen Fay. Solarius attempted to unite the scared and scattered human populations under one banner: The Glorious Empire. After the Great Cataclysm destroyed the dark tower and caused the Magical Plague, the scared citizens of the world were united by a man named Solarius. Shortly after the Third Overlord was trapped and the minions were forced to abandon him, his empire began crumbling. Since its founding and inception, many enemies have failed to stop the Empire and its ruthless march towards the conquest of the world, it is the faith, the sense of righteousness, and the unconquerable spirit of its citizens which gives the Empire its strength, as well as the ruthless efficiency of its military and anti-magic machineries. Although not as skilled in craftsmanship as the Dwarfs or in magic as the Elves, the people of the Glorious Empire are fueled by an extreme hatred for everything that is connected with magic that pushes them constantly to overcome their limits and to progress relentlessly in culture and technology.
It's a heavily militarized and xenophobic nation that preached human supremacy all over the world and promoted the persecution of non-human races and magic users. Of the Human nations of the World, the most important by far was that of the Glorious Empire, more often called simply The Empire, forged by the mysterious, masked conqueror Solarius, from the many former human nations of the Empire Heartlands, Nordberg and so on, more than twenty years before the events of Overlord II. Everyone was happy, and those who weren't were killed, enslaved or had other nasty things done to them." - Gnarl during the intro to Overlord II. And thus began the reign of the Glorious Empire.
